At Titanium Race Timing, we are committed to environmental, social and economic sustainability.
Sporting events have the power to improve our mental and physical health and make changes to our everyday lifestyle. However we also recognise that these events can take a toll on the environment. We recognise that we have a responsibility to take what actions we can to protect and preserve the environment.
There is no one stakeholder that can solve this issue we all need to work together (event organisers, suppliers & participants) to achieve this goal.
In 2023 Titanium Race Timing carried out a review on how we can reduce our impact on the environment. We have a clear sustainability policy with trackable metrics.
We are working with event organisers to implement these changes in 2024.
All our remote timing boxes will be powered by batteries and we will be prohibiting generate usage on sites that can gain access to power.
We will actively promote the use of reusable timing chips and eliminating the usage of disposable chips on events with less than 300 participants.
We have made a conscious choice to ban the use of air freight. By opting for alternative transportation methods, we aim to reduce carbon emissions.
We will be tracking all travel for each element of our operations and investigating ways to make our travel more sustainable.
Our services have been utilised by Race Directors from around the country. We have a can do attitude and work with Race Directors to deliver bespoke solutions.
Did you know a 5,000 person event could generate 500,000 kg of carbon if every participant travels separately in a petrol vehicle. That is a lot of carbon - could you car share with a number of friends?
If you want to make a difference consider how you travel to the event. Could you car share with friends or use public transport?
Why not simply use the recycling stations at events do dispose of your bib number to ensure it can be recycled correctly.
